My path to acupuncture was not a straight line. It’s a story shaped by medicine, bodywork, loss, love, and over three decades of learning to listen to what the human body is trying to say. I’d like to share it with you — because I think it matters, and because I believe you deserve to know who is treating you and why.
I grew up in medicine – I saw both sides of it.
Both of my parents were prominent family practice physicians. I grew up watching medicine from the inside — the waiting rooms, the late-night calls, the patients who got better and the ones who didn’t.
I watched Western medicine do extraordinary things. Save lives. Catch what would otherwise have been missed. Intervene at exactly the right moment and give people back years they would otherwise have lost. I also grew up watching Western medicine help just as many people as it failed.
I knew both sides of that equation from the inside — and I knew we could do better.
